Mixed Bunch Tile Card – Stampin’ Up!

Hello There,
This morning I thought I would play around with creating a tile card with the Stampin’ Up! Mixed Bunch set and Hello, Lovely set.  I started with the free Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper (DSP), Sweet Sorbet and used the colors in the DSP for my tile images.  This is much, much easier than creating a tile and then trying to find a Designer Series Paper to match.  Plus, I love the colors in the DSP.

A Million & One Thanks – Stampin’ Up! Card

Thank you to all of our Veterans today and every day!

The Best on Earth:
A Veteran’s Day Tribute

If someone has done military service,
They earn the title “veteran,” and more;
They earn our deep respect and admiration;
That they are special no one can ignore.
They sacrificed the comforts we enjoy;
The list is long of all the things they gave.
Our veterans are extraordinary people;
They’re loyal, dedicated, true and brave.

When terror and invasion were real threats,
They showed us they could handle any storm.
We owe our freedoms and our very lives
To our veterans, who served in uniform.

Our veterans should be celebrities;
They’re exceptional; no other group compares.
We’re grateful for the many things they’ve done;
They’re always in our hearts and in our prayers.

We owe our veterans support and friendship;
Let no one ever question what they’re worth.
These men and women served us and our country,
Our veterans–the very best on earth.

Not Just for Fall Leaf – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #605

Hey There,

I’ve been busy, busy with my vegetable garden of late.  When you are growing food you are a slave to the calendar starting the season out.  Got to prepare the soil and get those seeds and plants in the ground so they have time to grow before seasons end.  Oh yeah, and keep everything weed free.  That’s a full time job around here.   Sounds like a lot of work and it is, but boy I love my fresh veggies and the exercise is great for me to.

Anyhow, I’ve come in out of the garden to give you today’s tutorial.  Check it out, I’ve used the beautiful Stampin’ Up! set Gently Falling for this project.  Remember to give those Seasonal stamps a look now and then.  Don’t just put those Autumn sets in a box and not bring them out until October.  They can be used year about.  Take for instance my card today, I could use this card for a thank you, thinking of you or sympathy.   Keep your leaves green or white and stay away from the yellow and orange colors for your leaves and you have an everyday scene.  My complete tutorial for this card is below.  Enjoy!***************************************************************

I’ve added the featured card of the day to my sales page where you will also find some great deals on retired stamp sets and my brayer video.  CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT

***************************************************************

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Gently Falling (item # 123804)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and DSP from the Patterns Stack Neutrals

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponge, White Gel Pen, Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Basic Black Marker, Stampin’ Dimensionals and Basic Pearl Jewels

Started with a 3″ square piece of Whisper White card stock.  Masked the bottom 1.25″ with a post it note and then lightly sponged Always Artichoke ink, using a back and forth motion, on the unmasked area.

Sponged just a little Cherry Cobbler ink at the post it note edge.

Sponged Soft Suede ink at the post it note edge and the top of the card stock.

Removed the mask and put it back on to cover the top 2.25″.  Sponged Always Artichoke ink lightly on the unmasked area.

Sponged Soft Suede at the post it note edge.

Removed the mask and lightly sponged Soft Suede ink in the uninked section of the card stock.

Stamped the leaf using Always Artichoke ink.

Colored the leaf in using a White Gel Pen.

Here are my layers:

Very Vanilla Card base 10″ x 6.5″ folded in half

Soft Suede 5″ x 6.5″

Very Vanilla 4.75″ x 6.25″

DSP 4.5″ x 6″

Very Vanilla 3 3/8″ square

Soft Suede 3.25 square

Assembled the DSP on the largest Very Vanilla panel.  Added Crumb Cake Seam binding, adhering the ends to the back of the Very Vanilla panel.  Adhered those panels to the large Soft Suede Panel and then to the card stock base.  Assembled the main image panel, Soft Suede panel and Very Vanilla panel.  Adhered them to the larger panels using Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up.

Cut another piece of Seam binding and slipped it under the already attached Seam Binding and then tied it.

Added large Basic Pearls to the main image panel.

The leaf was looking a bit flat so I added a bit of Basic Black marker to the bottom of the leaf to give it some dimension.

Here is the finished card.

Before I close I have an announcement to make, the Mystery Hostess for the drawing ending May 21, 2013 is . . . . . . . Diana Simpson!!  Diana receives the hostess benefits from the pool orders using the last hostess code.

That went so well, let’s keep doing it.  Here are the details:

MYSTERY HOSTESS:

That means FREE STAMPS (or other products) I can SHARE with YOU!

Flock Together – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #588

Hello There,

This morning I felt like getting inky by doing the Direct to Paper Technique to create this background for the Quail from the Stampin’ Up! Flock Together Set.   I used nice cheerful colors so the quail would really stand out in the foreground.  Check out the tutorial below for this card.

********************************************

I’ve added this card to my sales page where you will also find some great deals on retired stamp sets.  CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT

********************************************

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up!  Flock Together (item #126732), Postage Due (item #126397), Travel Journal Wheel (item# 126937)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Marina Mist, Soft Suede and Pacific Point

Ink: Stampin’ Up! More Mustard, Marina Mist, So Saffron, Soft Suede, Pacific Point, Basic Black and Lucky Limeade

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Sponge, postage stamp punch, Soft Suede and More Mustard Markers, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Big Shot Machine and Fancy Fan and Argyle Embossing Folders

On a 4.5″ x 2.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock I drug the Marina Mist ink pad directly across the card stock (Direct To Paper or DTP Technique).

Drug the So Saffron ink pad across the bottom of the card stock.

Drug the More Mustard ink pad lightly over the So Saffron.

Drug the Pacific Point ink pad very lightly over the left hand corner of the card stock.

Added just a bit of Lucky Limeade ink using DTP and the very edge of the ink pad.

Drug the Soft Suede ink pad across the very bottom of the card stock.

Stamped the quail using Basic Black ink.

Colored the wing in using a More Mustard and Soft Suede marker

Used the Travel Journal Wheel and Soft Suede ink along the top of the card stock.

Stamped the postage stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Postage Due set using Marina Mist ink on Whisper White card stock.  Punched it out using the Postage Punch.  Sponged Soft Suede ink around the edges.

Added a Marina Mist panel, Pacific Point panel embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder and a strip of Soft Suede card stock that has been embossed using the Argyle Embossing Folder.  The Soft Suede strip has also been cut so there is two sections.

Adhered the main image panel on to a Marina Mist panel.  Added the postage stamp.  Popped the main image panel up using Stampin Dimensionals.

Here is the finished card measuring 4.25″ x 5.5″.

May you be safe and warm with the one’s you love.

Until my next post. . . . . .

Introducing Photopolymer by Stampin’ Up!

Always wanted to be a graphic designer?  My favorite part about design is typography. I adore type. There’s just something inherently beautiful about letterforms and what happens when you stack them to create different shapes and combine them to say different things.  So without further adieu, let me introduce you to the Designer Typeset Stamp Set. It’s based around a really great san serif font that will work well on just about any project. And then there are embellishments and shapes to take whatever you want to say to the next level. The possibilities are seriously endless.

I’ll admit, once you start playing around with the stamp set, you will have a hard time stopping!

But before we get too carried away, let’s get to talking about the benefits of photopolymer stamps. For those who are unfamiliar, let me point out a couple of things that are really cool.

First, they’re completely clear, making it oh-so-easy to stamp exactly where you want. They come unmounted, on an acetate sheet, and temporarily adhere to our clear blocks. Awesome!

Second, they are pliable. Want your arrow to shoot a certain way? No problem! Want your banner to have the perfect sag? Easy peasy! Being able to play with the shape gives you even more creative freedom.

So let’s get down to the nitty gritty. The Designer Typeset Stamp Sets in the online store starting now. So just click HERE to order yours today!

Emerging Color Butterflies – Tutorial #500

Hey There,

I really cannot believe this is card tutorial #500.  Didn’t I just start this blog yesterday?   Where does the time go . . . . . . .

If you would like a quick way to view past tutorials CLICK HERE or click on the Tutorial title at the top of my blog.

Anyhow, today’s tutorial was created for my Stampin’ Up! Down Line Technique Swap.  The technique used here is Emerging Color.   This technique gives you a beautiful background.   It’s hard to see it in it’s full glory in these pictures.  The Flowers that are stamped all over the background and then covered up really show through a bit under the dark ink put over them to give you a lovely layered look.   You just have to see in it person.  So get out those inks and stamps!

Reminders before I start on the tutorial:

Don’t miss out on my Customer free stamp set program. Check it out!  Along with a thank you card from me for your order you will receive a token for each $50 in product you ordered using me as your demonstrator.  After you have collected 10 tokens you will receive a free current stamp set of your choosing, a value of $39 or less.   Here is a link to my online shopping page that you can shop at 24/7 (from the comfort of your home, even in your pj’s) and the products will be shipped directly to your door step from Stampin’ Up:   CLICK HERE TO SHOP.   My free stamp set program will be an on going program.  :)

Now on with the tutorial . . . .

Stamped the flowers on a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Whisper White card stock using Tempting Turquoise, Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral inks.

Dried the ink on the card stock using my heat gun.

Stamped two butterflies on the cards stock using Versamark.  Heat embossed the butterflies using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Brayered Rich Razzelberry all over the card stock.   Wiped the embossed butterflies off with a paper towel.

Stamped a few small butterflies on the card stock using Rich Razzelberry ink.

Added white gel pen dashes.

Punched the flowers from Lucky Limeade card stock and 3 Label Punches from Rich Razzelberry card stock.

Assembled as show below.

Added the small flower and a decorative brad.

Added a Lucky Limeade panel and some Lucky Limeade Ribbon.  Popped the flower up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamped the words thank you using a Basic Black marker to color the “thank you” only and then stamped them on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock.

Punch it out using the Word Window Punch.

Punched a Modern Label Punch from Lucky Limeade card stock.  Glued the word window Punch to it and cut the end off of both.

Added White Gel Pen to the flower.

Added my sentiment and mini silver brads to the butterflies for their bodies and to the sentiment punches.  Added another Lucky Limeade Panel and a Rich Razzelberry panel.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May you find your hands ink today.

Until my next post. . . . .  . . .
