Hey There,
I’ve been busy, busy with my vegetable garden of late. When you are growing food you are a slave to the calendar starting the season out. Got to prepare the soil and get those seeds and plants in the ground so they have time to grow before seasons end. Oh yeah, and keep everything weed free. That’s a full time job around here. Sounds like a lot of work and it is, but boy I love my fresh veggies and the exercise is great for me to.
Anyhow, I’ve come in out of the garden to give you today’s tutorial. Check it out, I’ve used the beautiful Stampin’ Up! set Gently Falling for this project. Remember to give those Seasonal stamps a look now and then. Don’t just put those Autumn sets in a box and not bring them out until October. They can be used year about. Take for instance my card today, I could use this card for a thank you, thinking of you or sympathy. Keep your leaves green or white and stay away from the yellow and orange colors for your leaves and you have an everyday scene. My complete tutorial for this card is below. Enjoy!***************************************************************
I’ve added the featured card of the day to my sales page where you will also find some great deals on retired stamp sets and my brayer video. CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . . . .
Project Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Gently Falling (item # 123804)
Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and DSP from the Patterns Stack Neutrals
Ink: Stampin’ Up! Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede
Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Sponge, White Gel Pen, Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Basic Black Marker, Stampin’ Dimensionals and Basic Pearl Jewels
Started with a 3″ square piece of Whisper White card stock. Masked the bottom 1.25″ with a post it note and then lightly sponged Always Artichoke ink, using a back and forth motion, on the unmasked area.
Sponged just a little Cherry Cobbler ink at the post it note edge.
Sponged Soft Suede ink at the post it note edge and the top of the card stock.
Removed the mask and put it back on to cover the top 2.25″. Sponged Always Artichoke ink lightly on the unmasked area.
Sponged Soft Suede at the post it note edge.
Removed the mask and lightly sponged Soft Suede ink in the uninked section of the card stock.
Stamped the leaf using Always Artichoke ink.
Colored the leaf in using a White Gel Pen.
Here are my layers:
Very Vanilla Card base 10″ x 6.5″ folded in half
Soft Suede 5″ x 6.5″
Very Vanilla 4.75″ x 6.25″
DSP 4.5″ x 6″
Very Vanilla 3 3/8″ square
Soft Suede 3.25 square
Assembled the DSP on the largest Very Vanilla panel. Added Crumb Cake Seam binding, adhering the ends to the back of the Very Vanilla panel. Adhered those panels to the large Soft Suede Panel and then to the card stock base. Assembled the main image panel, Soft Suede panel and Very Vanilla panel. Adhered them to the larger panels using Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up.
Cut another piece of Seam binding and slipped it under the already attached Seam Binding and then tied it.
Added large Basic Pearls to the main image panel.
The leaf was looking a bit flat so I added a bit of Basic Black marker to the bottom of the leaf to give it some dimension.
Here is the finished card.
Before I close I have an announcement to make, the Mystery Hostess for the drawing ending May 21, 2013 is . . . . . . . Diana Simpson!! Diana receives the hostess benefits from the pool orders using the last hostess code.
That went so well, let’s keep doing it. Here are the details:
MYSTERY HOSTESS:
With Stampin’ Up!’s announcement of the new Hostess Code, we can now “pool” Online Orders together (place them individually, orders will ship directly to you – within the US only, but use the same hostess code). When smaller orders are put in together, the larger order qualifies for HOSTESS BENEFITS.
Until my next post. . . . . .
Huge Hugs!
