Hello Stampers,

Dragonflies are so beautiful and fun to color. You can treat them almost like you do when you color butterflies, every color of the rainbow.  I’ve never seen dragonflies that look like the ones I colored today but it’s okay, I have an artistic license to color them any way I want to, right?

In reality, I have a love hate relationship with dragonflies.  They seriously freak me out when they visit me when I’m gardening.  They are loud and big!  I never see them on our property otherwise.  I’m assuming they are just saying hello or maybe I’m stirring up some of their favorite bugs to eat?

Anyhow, I created this nice big card.  It’s 4″ x 9″ and fits perfect in a 10# size office envelope which you can pick up anywhere and cheap too!  This size card makes a statement for sure.

Hello there,

It’s strange the things that can inspire a card.  My card today was inspired by my  own beehives.  Yep, that’s right, I’m a beekeeper.  🙂

Inside those hives are frames which my bees store their honey, nectar, pollen and bee larva.  What I’ve found is the pollen they store is so very pretty in the frames.  It looks like jewels.

Oh Honey – Stampin’ Up! Card

Guess what I have been up to?

Inside one of my hives, looking at the top of the second level.  In between every frame hanging there is lots and lots of bees and honey.

I had to add a second large brood box a couple of weeks ago to handle all the new baby bees being born ever minute.  I’ll have to add a 3rd box before long.  The queen in each of the hives are really laying eggs.  I’ll try to record a bee being born so I can show you, it’s fascinating and they are so cute with their furry coats.

So you guessed it, I was working with my beehives this morning and of course, they gave me inspiration for my project today.  I hope this creation inspires you.  There is lots of fun dimension happening from 3 different levels on this card front.

I know, we usually don’t look forward to Mondays so I decided to stamp a cheerful little scene today to cheer us up.  Bright blue sky and orange flowers, doesn’t get much more cheerful than that.  🙂

The flower image and bumble bee image are from the beautiful Dragonfly Dreams Stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

 I love these two step stamp sets. So very easy to have colorful images with out the fussy coloring.  🙂

Hello there,

 I elected to make my dragonfly pop in today’s card by keeping that main image very light in color to contrast with my handmade darker background.  I hope it inspires you to give it a try and get those hands of yours inky.
