Check it out, for the last project in my March, 2019 Tutorial Package, I put the Birds and Blooms Thinlits Dies to the test today.  I love that I can die cut a bird out of Whisper White card stock and create any number of birds just by how I color them.  This seriously makes the Birds and Blooms die set invaluable to me for scene making.

I created the cuties in my project today with very minimal coloring.  I have no idea what kind of birds I created but that’s okay.  As long as they are cute they can be on my cards.  I believe they are taking in the salty sea air, awwwww.

Oh, and don’t forget these dies coordinate with the Best Birds stamp set, item 141525, one of my favorites from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

DSP Applique – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stampers,

Are you ever inspired by art forms other than stamping?  I’m often inspired by appliqué quilts.  Applique quilts are quilts which have pictures made from a contrasting color sewn on to the background fabric.  I decided to to create my card with that quilting technique in mind, using Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper from the Garden Impressions Pack and the Birds & Blooms Thinlits Dies.

The Designer Series Paper was a bit bright, right out of the package, so I sponge some light colors on the paper to mute it a bit.  This helped give the project a softer look.

Sweetheart of a Birdie – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stampers,

I’m in such good spirits today.  The sun is shining, temperatures will reach 52 degrees, snow is melting, the girls (hens) are out of their coop pecking around and I just checked on the other girls (honey bees) and they made it through the below zero weather, no problem.  Whoohoo!  Gotta love those Northern bees.

If you are wondering why I am calling my honey bees girls too, it’s because all of the worker bees are female.  There are male bees during the warmer months but they all get kicked out of the hive  to die when cold weather is approaching because all they do is lay around and eat the honey stores which is the food to get them through the winter months.  Crazy right?  Don’t worry, the queen will lay more male eggs come Spring.  There is your bee lesson for today, whether you wanted it or not, lol.

Now about today’s card. . . . . .This is a sweet one to send to anyone you love.

I created it mainly using the Best Birds Stamp Set, item 141525.  Boy oh Boy have I gotten a lot of use out of this stamp set!

I used two lovely stamp sets together, Best Birds #141525 and Christmas Pines #142049.  Teamed those great stamps up with the Emboss resist technique and was able to pull off a snowy pine branch for my best bird while having some stamping quiet time,  awe I needed that.
