Peony Sympathy – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I broke out a brand new set of stamps today, Stampin’ Up’s You’ve Got This.  I wanted to show in today’s project how to layer images, light image in front of dark image.  The main image panel is one piece in this project, not any cut out images.

Sympathy cards are one card that I don’t stock pile.  I create my sympathy cards as I need them.  I like to have the person in mind while creating it.  There is just one problem with that, how do you keep the card stock dry?

I will show you step by step how to create this project in today’s tutorial.

This card was created with a very heavy heart.  A friend and fellow stamper, Nancy Parks passed away suddenly this week.

Nancy and her daughter Kari come to my card classes here at my house often.  Watching mother and daughter laughing and enjoying each others company while creating was pure joy.

Nancy we will miss you. . . .

Please help me by keeping the Parks Family in your thoughts and prayers as they morn Nancy’s passing.

Rainy Day – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I don’t like when I need to make sympathy cards.  It’s even worse when I need to make one for my 5 year old Great Nephew.  His father passed away over the weekend.  So young to suffer such a great loss.

I’m very glad I have the know how to make a special card, tailored just for him.  This is what I came up with since the typical sympathy card didn’t seem to convey the right feelings.

Hurray for stamps!  This card would also be appropriate to send to anyone having a bad day.

I used the fox from the Stampin’ Up! Hostess Set, Life’s Adventure.  Such a great stamp set that covers so many occasions.

Simply Sketched Sympathy – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,
Do you stock pile sympathy cards?  I find that I like to make my sympathy cards as I need them.  They are such a very personal thing to send so I like to customize them for the recipient.  Does that make sense?  I know we can do that for any card, such as birthday etc. but, I don’t feel as strongly about it as I do with sympathy cards.
While I’m on my soap box regarding sympathy cards, we should all be conveying our feelings of sympathy by mailing a card, not posting to facebook, sending an e-mail etc.  In these days of technology we have lost that true personal connection with each other that a physical card makes.  Don’t you agree?
I have a dear friend who lost her husband this week and my heart is breaking for her, I cannot even imagine sending my feelings of sympathy via facebook or e-mail to her, enough said.
Today’s card was created using the stunning stamp image from the Stampin’ Up! Hostess set Simply Sketched.     Put that image in front of a mountain in a meadow and you have such a tranquil scene.  The sentiments in this set have such a beautiful font also.

Tulips So Sorry – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I’m currently having a ball in Houston, Texas at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference.  Before I left I set this blog post to post in my absence. I hope you are having a terrific week too.

Unfortunately, we all need a sympathy card now and then.  The brand new single stamp, Blessed Easter was used for this project along with the sentiment from the set So Sorry.  I created this card to have a dreamy, peaceful quality fit for a sympathy card.  I hope you like it.
