Well I am finally on the mends.  I’ve had a horrible respiratory virus for the past 2 weeks that really had me down.  Two Z pacs later I’m running of full steam again, YAY!!!  I hope you and your family are well.  The flu and other viruses are so bad this year, please take care of yourself.  🙂

On another note. . . .I used direct to paper to create the background for this warm weather friend.  Direct to paper is a technique that is not hard and you can come up with some pretty fantastic backgrounds, better yet, no two will be exactly alike, each one an original.

Stack of Rocks – Stampin’ Up! Card

Stack of Rocks

Hello there,

Have you ever been out and about and noticed stacks of rocks here and there?  This is called a cairn.  A cairn is a human-made pile (or stack) of rocks.  People  have been stacking rocks since prehistoric times.  They have been used as burial monuments, markers for buried treasure and more importantly they have been used as guide markers to help others find their way on trails.  I always thought this was a Zen thing, but after looking it up I was surprised to find it’s not.

So about today’s card, I used three stamps out of the Stampin’ Up! Fabulous Flamingo stamp set to create the peaceful scene.  Such great images in this set!

Hello there,

Today’s card shows off this flamingo in front of a super fun to make smooshed ink background.  Somebody please stop me!  I want to sit here for hours and just play with different color combos on the background alone, like I said super fun and quick technique.

This background just screamed to have black and gray images stamped on it to really set it off so I used the images from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.  What do you think?
