Autumn Drip Background – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stampers,

Yesterday I created a Winter card and felt I needed to give Autumn a fair shake by creating today’s card, which definitely screams Fall Y’all!  This card is 4″ x 9″ and fits in a regular old #10 size business envelope you can pick up just about any where.  This size card takes one stamp to mail, yet makes a big statement.  :). Gotta love it!

To me, the in focus foreground (bird, leaves and branches) on this card are totally brought to life by the out of focus hand made background.  You will be amazed at how easy and fun the background is to make by using, what I call, the my drip technique.

Spring Season – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stampers,

Spring is in full swing here in Ohio.  My fruit trees are so full of blossoms and my Honeybees are super busy pollinating and collecting nectar from them.  When you walk by the trees you can hear their happy humming.  It’s music to my ears.

My apiary has grown from 2 hives to 5 here at the house and I set up a second apiary at a friends house which has two hives currently.   It’s risky keeping all of your bees in one place.  You never know when one of the farms close to you will be spraying pesticides and will wipe out your apiary in one swoop.  Hence, the second location.  Times are tough for my sweet little friends.

Today’s project represents those flowering fruit trees I’m so happy to see each Spring.  I used a smoosh technique to create the background, so fun!  I can create those backgrounds all day, each one is so different than the others.

Blowing in the Wind

Hello Stampers!

I love all of the ways I have been able to use the flourish in the Stampin’ Up! Star of Light stamp set.  Here I’ve used it to indicate wind.  I love how it is blowing that leaf around.

I used the Swirls & Curls embossing folder to blend the die cut leaf into the scene.  When you adhere a die cut to your panel and then emboss it with an embossing folder it just magically blends right in and no longer looks like a separate piece.  🙂  The embossing sure adds texture to the scene as well.  I hope you are inspired to get inky today!
