Woodland Buck – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

The weather has taken a chilly turn here in Ohio and it really has me in the mood to create some Winter projects. The Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog has everything one needs to pull together a great card, so I picked a few products and went to creating this morning.

I combined the Woodland Embossing Folder with the Deer Framelit from the Santa’s Sleigh Framelits Set. My tutorial for today shows how to get color behind the trees along with the Deer. This project has a lot of texture, especially since I used the Cable Knit Texture Impressions folder on the background panels. What a great cozy look!

Gotta love a stamp image that is so easy to make a shadow or reverse image of. This church stamp from the Be Jolly, By Golly stamp set is one of them. A shadow gives so much depth to a scene, don’t you think?

Woodland Christmas – Stampin’ Up! Card

Fa la la la, la la la What to early?

Is it ever to early to start those Christmas cards. Surely, you don’t want to wait until the mad rush of the holidays? I know I want to give you plenty of holiday cards samples to inspire you so, I’m continuing to play with and enjoy all of the holiday products from Stampin’ Up!

Today’s project background was created using the Woodland Embossing Folder, 139673. This embossing folder in it’s holiday debut flew off of the shelf. Stampin’ Up! had thought they would retire the embossing folder after the holiday catalog ended last year but, do to popular demand, they instead put it in the annual catalog. This made me and many of you, oh so very happy!

Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

I put the color behind the trees by applying the color directly to the embossing folder. This technique is so much fun and really makes those trees POP!

On Another Note. . . . . .

If you are looking for something really fun to do with friends and family check out a game place called “BreakOut.”

Russ and I took a trip to Lexington, KY with some friends this weekend to attend the horse races at Keenland. We won too! Anyhow while we were in Lexington we went to play Breakout at the Lexington location. What happens is you are put in a room and you have to problem solve your way out. Each room has a theme. The Lexington location had a special room called the “Derby Heist” that we did. We were given an hour to work our way out and we missed it by just a few seconds, Ugh! The photo above is our group after being defeated. As you see I am the real loser because I even have my “L” backwards on my forehead, lol.

The game is such a blast so see if there is Breakout location in your area. It is my understand they are everywhere. Highly recommend and a really, really good time!
