How about a tip?

Hello Stampers,

I have a tip for you today regarding using the Stampin’ Up! Grid Pad.  I’ve found if you use the grid pad with the glued edge away from you (at the top) the edges closest to you (at the bottom) will curl up from the movement of your arms against it.  This is annoying!

Simple solution, use the pad with the glued edge at the bottom. When I finally figured this out it was like DUH!

I use my grid pad every time I stamp, can’t live without it.   It gives me just the right cushion for nice stamped images, keeps my desk clean and the ruler marks around the edges is so convenient. 🙂

Solving the Delma of Which Colors To Use?

Screen Shot 2018-05-08 at 8.52.24 AM

We all struggle with color combos here and there.  I tend to get in a rut and use the same color combos over and over.  To bring excitement back into my color combos I will do the following google search “pinterest color palettes” and guess what, there are over 17 thousand color palettes on there for your inspiration.  Awesome right?

Say I want to do a floral card.

Screen Shot 2018-05-08 at 8.53.54 AMDSC_0002

I will look for a palette with flowers and colors which make me swoon.  I love the soft tones of the above palette so I pull out the Stampin’ Up! colors I have closest to the inspiration palette.  Don’t get hung up on them not being exact, the color palette is for inspiration only remember.

Now I have my colors picked out I am not overwhelmed with all the color choices I have and it’s so much easier to select the color I want to use for each element on my stamped panel, Designer Series paper and card stock layers.

I hope this post inspires you to search out a color palette that has you excited to grab your ink, stamps and paper.

Paper Pumpkin Stamp Storage Solution

DSC_0001_edited-2

Hello there,

Are you like me and love to get those Paper Pumpkin kits in the mail each month.   Well, each kit comes with an exclusive stamp set.  Here is a quick and cost effective way to store those stamp sets.  They are just to wonderful to throw in a box, why not a quick cute Project Life 6″ x 8″ album.

DSC_0004_edited-3

My album was inspired by Connie Stewarts album and it literally only took me about 15 minutes to pull together.

You will need one album, 1 pack of pages inserts, card stock of your choice in color, I used Delightful Dijon.  Cut the card stock into 3″ x 4″ pieces for the small pockets and 6″ x 4″ for the larger pockets.  Put the card stock in the pockets, add your stamps, put them in the album, inside done!

DSC_0001_edited-2 For the outside I added an 6.5″ x 8.5″ piece of Mint Macaron Designer Series Paper, 5″ x 6″ piece of Watermelon Wonder Card stock,  one of the Paper Pumpkin logo pieces that comes in each Paper Pumpkin box you receive to the front of the album with Fast Fuse adhesive.  I also wrap a piece of Mint Macaron Ribbon around the cover and tied it in a bow.  Project done, a problem solved and it is cute besides.

Not getting Paper Pumpkin right now, check out the great half off deal on it below.

Supply List

Note:  The album with the Cherry Cobbler Spine is not available at this time.  You can use the Album with the Early Espresso spine and it would be just as adorable.

May your day be out of this world wonderful!

Cleaning Your Clear Blocks Tip

DSC_0001

I don’t know about you, but my clear blocks get so yucky dirty.  I find myself looking through my blocks to find a nice clean one to use.  When I can no longer find a clean one I break down and clean the whole lot of them.

DSC_0002

Isn’t this lovely, lol.  Never fear, I have a quick tip on cleaning those nasty blocks.

DSC_0003

Everyday hand sanitizer cleans those blocks right up.  I get warm fuzzy feeling about this process too because it kills the germs as well, bonus!

DSC_0004

DSC_0005

Just squirt some on your block and rub it around with a paper towel until your block is clean.

DSC_0006

There you have it, perfectly clean and 99.99% germ free.

Have the best day ever!

Until my next post. . . . . . .  .

Stampin’ Up! Candy Dot Tip

DSC_0036

Hello there,

For my project yesterday I needed Basic Black Candy Dots and since I had used all of mine in my Candy Dot packages I made my own by coloring a few left over ones that were a different color with a Black Sharpie Marker.

DSC_0037

If you are like me you hate to waste things so this is a solution to get more out of your stash.  🙂  I tend to use Basic Black Candy Dots more than any other color and I’m always running out.  But now I won’t be.

I hope you found this little tip helpful.

Have a terrific weekend!

Organizing Stampin’ Up! Photopolymer Stamps

Hello There,

I’ve decided to take a day and do some organizing in my office because it is OUT OF CONTROL!!

I had a stack of Stampin’ Up! Photopolymer stamp sets which currently come in a plastic wrapper when you order them.  Well, to be more organized I wanted them to be in my bookcase with the rest of my stamps.

So I did some research yesterday and found there is a printable label you can edit that fits into the clear mount Stampin’ Up! cases which are sold separately, Whoohoo!

This was invaluable info to me so, I thought I would pass it on to you.

Here is a link to the label, this is a Word Document:   CASE LABEL

To put this together, open the document, type the stamp set name in the two places and then copy the image from my online store and paste it in and print the label.

Slip your label in the font of the case and there you have it!

Clear Mount Cases, Item #119105

The label covers the front of the case and the spine.

The stamp set will show through the back of the case also.  🙂

Okay, now I need to get back to work.

Have a fabulous day!

Until my next post. . . . . . .  .

A Glimps Into My World – Unmounted Stamp Storage

dsc00215.JPG

What’s this you see?  A container full of non-Stampin’ Up unmounted stamps?  I know, I know, I know, I am a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator and love, love their stamps and other products, but I have this sickness that I just cannot find a cure for, lol.    I find myself looking at and buying unmounted stamps from all kinds of places and sources.   I rarely use them and they are pretty much stashed away most of the time, but I still find myself adding to them, slowly but surely.

Now for the reason I made this post.  I use Innovative Stamp Creations Stamps in my workshops, they are unmounted and the images are so yummy!   I am asked at least once every trip “how do you store your unmounted stamps”.   Well, I have this container that has been around forever and ever and ever.  It has once housed my Acrylic paints, then my Cross Stitch supplies, then my watercolor supplies, then my pastel supplies, it just goes on and on.    Now, of course, it is housing my unmounted stamps.  I believe I purchased this container 20 or so years ago so I have no idea if you can still find one like it.  It is on wheels, has three stacking containers of varying heights and has a lid that I has long since been lost.  The three stacking containers have latches on them so they snap together and it is very, very sturdy.  The above photo is the unit all together and it shows how I put a letter size hanging file frame in the top container with hanging files and I keep my largest baggies in there.   If the stamps did not come in cellophane with a reference sheet I stick the stamps to a transparancy sheet and then store them in baggies and and make a reference sheet to go in the baggie with them.

Below is the middle container, no hanging files, there is enough stamps in there that they all stay upright and I store them in the packaging that they came in by vendor.

UPDATE:  One of my wonderful readers told me you can purchase this container at this link:

https://www.containerstore.com

It is called the Busy Box and retails for $39.95

dsc00213.JPG

The bottom container is the shortest and is great for those small packages that just have one stamp in them.  They are also stored in the packaging that they came in.

Note:  Every image I own is put on a reference sheet and placed in a binder for easy browsing.  🙂

dsc00214.JPG

As I look at all of these great images, plus my hundreds of Stampin’ Up stamps, a voice inside me says “Mickey, there is no possible way you will live long enough to use all the images you have”.  My inner voice calls me by my nickname, lol.

Than in the next instant that inner voice says “Mickey, let’s go shopping for more”.  I like my inner voice.  🙂

May your day today be full of excess.

Until my next post. . . . .  . . . . . . . . . . . . . ..

Huge Hugs,

Michelle
