Cat Story Time – Tutorial #298

This is one of those cards that just evolved.  I started out to just do the main image panel of the cat sitting on the moon, but then I thought, how did he get up there?  Hence the house, lol.  The house isn’t fancy.  Just one like you cut out when you were in grade school.  🙂

Let’s get started because I am in the middle of packing for my Phoenix, AZ workshops.   Phoenix here I come!

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! “C” is for Cat and Spotlight on Christmas

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Brilliant Blue, White Craft, Basic Black and Bashful Blue
Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Sponge, White Gel Pen, Brayer, Flourish Texture Plate, Big Shot Machine

Cut a 2.5″ circle out of card stock with my Circle Scissors Plus.

Cut the center of of the circle to create a moon shape.

Held the moon shape on a 3.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock and sponge on Bashful Blue ink.

Still holding the moon mask on, sponged Brilliant Blue ink around the moon, not covering the Bashful Blue ink entirely.  This gives the appearance of the moon glowing.  🙂

Stamped the cat from the Stampin’ Up! set “C” is for Cat with Basic Black ink.

Sponged a bit of Basic Black ink on the card stock corners.

Colored the cat’s color, eye and tag in with a White Gel Pen.

Stamped the swirls from the Stampin’ Up! set “Spotlight on Christmas” with Basic Black ink.

Cut a 3.5″ square of Basic Black card stock in half to create a triangle for the roof of the house.

Stamped the foot prints on the roof top with White Craft ink.

Put a 4 5/8″ x 6 1/8″ Bashful Blue Panel through the Big Shot Machine using the Flourish Texture Plate.

Brayered Brilliant Blue ink at the top of the texturized Bashful Blue Panel.

Assempled the house, roof and a scrap of Basic Black for the house bottom.

Glued them to the Bashful Blue Panel and then trimmed around the panel to cut the excess house pieces off.

Oops!  Lifted the roof top up a bit and added a chimney, scrap piece of Basic Black card stock.  🙂

Added another Bashful Blue Panel and a Brilliant Blue Panel.  Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your day be filled with wonderful surprises!

Until my next post.  . . .  . . . . . . . . ..
