Cheers! – Tutorial #291 and a Snow Buddies Blog Candy

dsc02202.JPG

Happy New Year and Cheers to You!  I know I am a couple of days early, but you just might want to make this card for someone.  🙂

I teamed up the Stampin’ Up! sets Viola and Cheers for you.  I am not sure why I haven’t used these sets together yet since they work perfectly together.   So many stamps, so little time, lol.

Today’s tutorial illustrates how to stamp over embossed images and how to add a look of brick to your scene.

But first, let me give some blog candy away.

dsc02207.JPG  I have a brand new Stampin’ Up! Hostess Level 2 set called Snow Buddies to give away.  All you need to do to enter for a chance to win is leave a comment on this blog post telling me what your New Year Resolution is.  If you are receiving this blog update via e-mail you will need to click this link and then leave a comment on my actual blog:   https://zindorf.splitcoaststampers.com/2009/12/30/cheers-tutorial-291-and-a-snow-buddies-blog-candy/

Please no e-mail entries.

I will select the winner using a random number generator on Saturday, January 2, 2010.  Good luck!

Now let’s get started on today’s tutorial. . . . .

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up Voila, Cheers to You and A Brand New Year
Paper: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Night of Navy, Close to Cocoa and Bravo Burgundy
Ink: Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Real Red, Going Gray, Basic Gray, Blush Blossom, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Stampin’ Up silver brads, Aqua Painter, White Gel Pen, Versamark marker and pad, brayer, ruler, sponges, Photo corner punch, piercing tools, clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

dsc02206.JPG

Stamped the Chef by loading my stamp first with Versamark and then with Basic Black ink before stamping it on a 4″ x 5.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock.

dsc02168.JPG

Stamped the glasses by first loading my stamp with Versamark and then with Basic Black ink before stamping it.

dsc02169.JPG

Heat embossed both images using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

dsc02170.JPG

Sorry for the blurry images.  Nothing like starting the day out with your camera settings wrong.  🙂

I am going to color my images using a Stampin’ Up Aqua Painter and my ink pads.   To use the ink pads to watercolor with just squeeze the middle of the closed ink pad to create a pool of ink on the inside of the stamp pad lid.  You will then be able to dip your Aqua Painter brush in the pool of ink to paint with.

dsc02171.JPG

Colored the right side and under the chef’s jacket to create a shadow effect with Going Gray ink and an Aqua painter.  Also painted the tray with Going Gray ink.

dsc02172.JPG

Painted his scarf with Real Red ink.

dsc02173.JPG

Colored the Glasses in with Bravo Burgundy ink, lightly.  Waited for them to dry a bit and then added Bravo Burgundy ink heavier on the right side of the glasses.

Also added Bravo Burgundy ink to the right side of the Chef’s scraf.

dsc02175.JPG

Painted the Chef’s face and hand with Blush Blossom ink.

dsc02176.JPG

Added a bit more shadow on the right side of the chef and the tray using Basic Gray ink.

dsc02177.JPG

I don’t like waiting for things to dry so I used my heat gun and heated the images a bit just to dry them.

dsc02178.JPG

Colored over the images entirely with a Versamark marker being very careful to stay within the embossed black lines.

dsc02179.JPG

Heat embossed the images using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Since I want to make sure that my images stay nice and bright I am going to repeat the Versamark marker and clear embossing for a second time.  Your embossed images should be smooth as glass.

dsc02180.JPG

Masked the floor area with a post it note.

dsc02181.JPG

Brayered Bashful Blue ink on the right side of the card stock.

dsc02182.JPG

Brayered Not Quite Navy ink on the right side of the card stock, not covering the Bashful Blue  ink entirely.

dsc02183.JPG

Be sure to wipe off your embossed images after putting ink over them.  I use an old cotton towel, but you can use a paper towel too.

dsc02184.JPG

Masked the wall area of the scene.

dsc02185.JPG

Brayered Creamy Caramel ink on the right side of the card stock.

dsc02186.JPG

Brayered Close to Cocoa ink on the right side of the card stock, not covering the Creamy Caramel ink entirely.  Wipe off the embossed images.

dsc02187.JPG

Masked the floor area again with a post it note and stamped the “A Brand New Year” stamp using Bashful Blue ink on the wall area.   Wipe the ink off of your embossed images when done.

dsc02189.JPG

Sponge Not Quite Navy ink at the post it note edge to darken the wall where it meets the floor.

dsc02191.JPG

Removed all of the masks.

Now let’s put in some brick.

Using a Ruler and a White Gel pen draw lines across the floor, skipping over the chef’s legs.

dsc02192.JPG

Now draw lines the other direction using a ruler and skipping every other section.

dsc02193.JPG

Now draw lines in the sections you skipped in the last step.  These lines should line up with the middle of the bricks you put in on the last step.

dsc02194.JPG

Sponged Bravo Burgundy ink around the edges of the main image panel and a Close to Cocoa panel.

dsc02195.JPG

Added Night of Navy and Bravo Burgundy panels to the Close to Cocoa Panel and main image panel.  Also added Night of Navy Photo Corner punches.

dsc02196.JPG

Added 3 silver brads to each Photo corner.

dsc02197.JPG

dsc02202.JPG

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your New Year bring you good fortune and great health!

Until next year. . . . . . . .. .

Huge Hugs to you,

Michelle

  1. My resolutions for 2010 is to be more patient and understanding. I want to slow down and really listen.

  2. My New Year’s resolution is to be more productive in all areas of my life and to absolutely do more stamping! Happy New Year’s to you – I absolutely love your blog and look forward to your inspirations for 2010.

  3. Rose-Ellen Eastman

One of my resolutions is to slow down a bit and enjoy every moment with my girls (that are growing up waaaaaaay to fast!)

  4. Love this set. I really must get the Voila set!

New years resolution: To be more considerate of other people, To find the joy in all people, and really enjoy experiences with a new found eye!

BYW, thanks for the class in Nashville, IN. My cohorts and I really enjoyed it, and learned a lot!

  5. My resolution is to, stop stressing over the little things. Slow down and find more time to enjoy the things I like to do! Happy New Year!

  6. I think if I had to pick one thing, it would be to travel more and see more places and things. I don’t do well on large, congested roadways and it is keeping me from having fun. Zoom, Zoom, Zoom! Happy New Year!

  7. Gorgeous card! My resolution is not to make one, I never keep them! =)
    Hugs, SannaS

  8. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions because I never seem to keep them.

  9. My resolution is to try and get my stamping area finished so I can stamp more – especially your technique Michelle! And to find out where you got that stamp set “A Brand New Year”. I can’t find that in my book anywhere. So I hope I get lucky this time and win this one! (I keep hoping everytime I enter something like this…oh well). Thanks for the opportunity.

  10. My resolution is to try to stay positive at work. We’re going from a staff of 350 to 110 and yes I’m one of the ones losing my job. I have 3 more months there and then bigger and better things I hope. After 26 years working there it will be scary.

  11. I have never done very good with resolutions so really don’t plan to make any. I do plan to continue to do what I have been doing for the past year–I have vinyl letters on my wall saying “Practice Gratitude” and that is what I plan to continue to do. It helps my entire being. Thank you for sharing your talent with us and creating such works of art.
    Cheryl Sims

  12. Cheers to you too! Resolutions- hmm- loose weight, go to the gym at least three days/week, become more organized, and find more time to create- make a schedule so I can!

  13. Beautiful card, Michelle! My resolution is to do what it takes to stay healthy____ eat healthy foods, keep on exercising, get plenty of sleep, stay positive, and surround myself with positive friends who just happen to be my scrapbooking/stamping buddies! Thanks for all the hard work you do on this fantastic blog! I wish you a Happy New Year!

  14. Lose weight, what else???

  15. Oh how I love Voila. i have to order it as soon as I can. My new years resolution is to live within my means – craft wise. I have so much stuff that I have bought with the intention of making this card or that scrap page and havent . I have lost substantial income with a cut in my hours to 20% so that should give me time to be productive. Fingers are crossed 😉

  16. My New Year’s resolutions???? Ummmm. Well goodness knows I could improve in this department so………..I resolve to be a better person.

Michelle, thanks for this sweet tutorial. A friend from SCS sent me some of these images and now I know what to do with them! Precious and your tutorial makes it doable for me. Happy New Year to you and yours.

  17. My new years resolution is to spend more time in my craft room and actually finish my stack of unfinished projects.

  18. I love blog candy – even more I love your work. Mine never comes out the same. I will keep practicing if you keep posting though. Thanks as always.

  19. My new year’s resolution is to find a job. After losing my teaching position last year due to the economy, I might need to branch out to another field in order to bring home a paycheck. Great New Year’s card; I always like how you combine stamp sets. Thanks for the chance to win.

  20. Happy New Year to you too! Love this card and how you brayered on the side. My New Year’s Resolution is to complete all the cards I have started. I love the “artsy” creative side of card making and trying new techniques. So I have lots of card fronts or pictures that could be put on a card…..but the cards are not completed inside, back or envelope. (yes I stamp all those areas too.) So this year I’m going to work on completeing all those unfinished projects and then file them under the correct category so that when I need a card….it will be finished!
I hope 2010 is your best year yet!*HUGS*
    Trish

  21. My NY resolution is to put more creative time in my studio. I want to make more complicated things, things more of a challenge. Thanks for offering this nice stamp set.

  22. Michelle,

I would like to thank you for all I have learned by staying tuned to your website. I am a new card maker and love trying your tutorials. One of my resolutions is to be able to take a class with you because I can’t imagine how much I would learn by actualy being with you personally! Of course I want to loose weight but I really want to learn to play the guitar this year. Now that I have the guitar, I really don’t have any restrictions from obtaining this resolution.

    Thanks,
    Terri

  23. Happy New Year! Your cards and art work are beautiful! Looking forward to seeing what you do in 2010!

  24. To live a simpler life, let go of the things weighing me down and now that every path has a few puddles and always stamp, stamp, stamp.

  25. i am very new to blogging and have been a stampin up demo for less than a year. i truly enjoy all this and have lots to learn – that is my new years resolution: to make great use of the tools at my disposal!! – and to have all my christmas cards done BEFORE thanksgiving! ha lesson learned there…. love your work!! great fun playing with new techniques! m

  26. Beautiful card. Thanks for a chance to win. Susan

  27. Thanks for the chance to win this set. My New Year’s resolutions? To not eat so much, and to keep my house cleaner on a daily basis, and not spend so much time at the computer.

  28. Stunning..one of my favorite SU stamps…

  29. Newstampinaddict

Absolutely gorgeous card and I love the tutorial. Makes me feel that even I could reproduce this! Thanks for sharing.

  30. I would love to be entered in the drawing for the blog candy. My New Year’s resolution is to not be so hard on myself, don’t over extend myself, and accept myself for me. This includes stop worrying about my weight so much as long as I eat healthy and exercise and taking time out for me. I know it sounds selfish but I am realizing that unless I start taking better care of myself, I’m not doing my best for my family, I am not setting a good example for my daughter, and I might not be around as long.

I wish you and your family a very Happy 2010!

  31. Please enter me in your drawing for the snowman stamp set. For my resolution I would like to be on time for the couple of anual swaps I belong to.

  33. I am going to try to learn to live “in the moment”. And your tutorial is great – I actually think I might give this one a try. Thanks for sharing your talents with us!

  34. Please enter me in your contest for the blog candy. As for resolutions, there are so many – aren’t there? First, stop procrastinating! There are so many little things I put off, and with time they grow into big things. Second, be more diligent about going to the gym. After all, that’s me time and a luxury- I shouldn’t have to talk myself into it. And last, indulge the creative child in myself more often and without guilt!!!!!

  35. My New Year’s resolution for this year is to organize my craft room, I’ve accumulated so much stuff that I don’t even know what I have anymore. So I have my work cut out for me & will do a little at a time.

I luv this card it’s awesome! Thanks so much for all your fantastic tutorials.

  36. Great card as always! My New Year’s resolutions – to slow down and listen to others more carefully, and to eat healthier and lose a few pounds in the process. Thanks for the chance to win this great set!

  48. I plan to drink more water and get birthday cards out on time!

  49. My resolution is to start taking care of myself. No more burning the candle on both ends. Seeing my doctor when I am supposed to, not just when I am at death’s door. I guess that would also mean more play time in the craft room, since that make me happy!

I’m looking forward to all your new tutorials as well. Thank you again for all your inspiration.

    ~Amy
**PICK ME, PICK ME, PICK ME**

So I often think in baby steps rather than resolutions. I’d like to spend more time with my family so creating opportunities to do that will be a priority. I’d like to make more cards to donate to the military so I think I’ll try to make 5 cards per month. Thanks for the chance to win!

My New Year resolution is to definitely get organized. My current stamp area is rather small and I am trying to convert one of our other bedrooms as my stamping sanctuary.

I love the Voila set and never thought of using the Cheers set with it. Love this idea. I also like the way you used the Brand New Year stamp as a background. Very clever.

It would be great to win the Snow Buddies set.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    Genny

  99. The people who I make cards for each month would love to have a new variation from me!! I’d love to share this with them!

  103. Hi Michelle, beautiful card-as usual! I would love to win the hostess set! My new years resolution is to MAKE all of my cards this year–ON TIME! LOL!! Wish me luck! sandy

  108. Love, love this set. Snowmen are my faves! Happy New Year and see you in July!

  109. Happy New Year Michelle and thank you for all your wonderful and creative ideas. They are amazing! Okay, I have two resolutions to complete my 2009 craft projects and to stamp more. I love winter and snowman and I would LOVE to have the blog candy to use on wintery and snowy days. All the best in 2010!!

  110. OMGosh! This card is stunning and love all the details and the colors. You always inspiring me with all your creative MOJO! You always make it look so easy too! This is one sweeeeeeeeet giveaway! I just love this stamp set and I’m keepin my fingers cross that this might be the lucky post. Thanks so much for a chance. Happy New’s Year!

  111. My resolution is to step outside of my comfort zone and try new things.
I would love to try new techniques in stamping and products I have never used before.
Michelle, you inspire me to want to broaden my horizons and try new ideas, Thank You!

  112. My resolution is to create world peace and end suffering to all mankind — oh, and of course, to lose weight and to reorganize my craft room. Hopefully, since the first two are pretty unrealistic, I can make some headway on the last two, both of which are desperately needed! Thanks, Michelle!

  113. My new years resolution is to lose weight same as every year and a new one this year to get organized. I plan to clean out every closet in my house and have a huge garage sale in the spring.

  114. Well unfortunately, one of my resolutions is to lose weight AGAIN!!!! Maybe one of these years this won’t have to be my resolution!!! LOL I also want to make more time for crafting so I can catch up on all the things I want to do!!!! Not sure how that is going to happen, but it will be fun to try!!! Alot more fun than the losing weight thing!!! LOL
Have a blessed New Year Michelle!!!
This stamp set is sooo cute!! I would love to win it!!! Thanks for the chance!!!

  115. My resolution is to listen intentionally ~ to not only hear the message, but the heart behind the message ~ my other resolution is to get over my fear of the brayer ~ I have never used this technique, but absolutely love your work ~ thanks for the opportunity to win Voila, this would be a great place to start ~ thanks Michelle and Happy New Year!

  116. My resolution for 2010, same as almost every year before. Lose this weight! I will add, stamp more to this resolution this year and not keep any candy laying around my craft room. Thanks for a chance to win blog candy. I love your picture. You are so good with your shadows and your designs.

  117. I came here without any resolutions – maybe just to resolve to not make resolutions so I can just get on with daily life and do the best I can with the tools I’ve got! … but that probably counts as a resolution, right?! grins …

  118. First I want to wish you a Happy New Year and thank you for showing us so much nice things.
I love the set and really hope that I maybe the lucky person who can play with it. It would make a very lovely start in the new year for me.
    Thank you.

  119. Oh, I love this set! One of my resolutions is to shop less and create more in 2010! I am so inspired by your blog-thanks for the chance to win!!!

  120. My resolution is to not make any resolutions and take life just one day at a time!

  121. Hi Michelle-

My resolution this year is going to be to majorly cut back on soda so that I can look my absolute best for my upcoming wedding in April.

  122. Lovely set with cutest little accessories… I hope I win this time. In terms of resolution, it would be nice to spend more time at my scrap space and stamp more. There is never enough time…
Thank you for sharing and Happy New Year!

  123. Great card, I love this set though I haven’t used mine yet.
Thanks for the chance at some great blog candy.
I have several resolutions this year. Like everyone else, to eat healthier and with that to take off about 10 pounds. Then organize, organize, organize. Just moving into a new house before Christmas we still have a mess. My craft areas ( I get 2 in the new house) are a disaster. Computer is going, but nothing else. Have no idea where stamps, or pens are at. Ink is sitting here. Should be do-able resolutions, I hope.

  124. My New Year’s Resolution is to live out my personal mission statement everyday of the year and pursue my vision for my life.

  125. What a cute, fun card…you caught my essence – I love cooking, being served and having wine with my dinner!!!

My resolution was introducted to me at Christmas by a very “special” person…a resolution of sharing without strings. Christmas night, I went through my house, looking in closets and thought…”this is redicelous.” To have so much when others have nothing (funny how we hord like little packrats). So with that being said, my resolution is to share with those less fortunate or having problems surviving. Like most, we are now having problems because of the Obamh economy. I too have lost my job of 19 years (now trying Real Estate – wish me luck) and my husband, after 44 years in business, may have to declare bankruptcy but through it all…we are rich. Rich with friends, family and special people who cared and shared with us at Christmas. With this stamp set (candy), I would make cards to include with each box of goodies.

  126. Cute card!!
My New Years resolution is to get in better shape and to be the best person I CAN be on the inside too.

  127. Decluttering my house and my schedule are my resolutions, to say nothing of trying to get rid of the extra holiday pounds. Snowmen are versatile and can be used all winter. I’d love to have them. Thanks,

  128. My New Years resolution is to find new ways to be creative with my stamps. Receiving your emails is an inspiration. Would love to win this cute stamp…I have no snowmen…yet!

  129. Wow!!! Love the card. With the holidays almost over I think I will clean off my craft area and give your techniques another shot and even though I never win anything I will keep trying, lol. I will have to get this set and please enter me to win the cute snowman set. Keep up the great inspirations and I will keep trying til I get it perfect. Happy New Year to you and yours…

  130. Super cute card again. I don’t have either of these sets, but they’ll probably go on my wish list next!

A couple of my NY resolutions are : keeping up with the junk mail (keeping it shredded), and writing something on my blog as much as possible. Not life-changing, but doable. OH—and to stamp more! 🙂

  131. My New Year’s resolution is twofold; 1. to try to make a card a day (very ambitious, I know), and 2. to learn to color better. I am pretty good at coloring and blending, but I can never seem to figure out where all the shadowing should go. I usually have to look at what others have done to figure it out. That’s why I follow your blog. The more I do it, the better I get a feel for it.

I know that cards are a great way of encouraging and cheering up friends and neighbors and I really want to learn to be the best I can be at it.

Have a safe and very happy new year!

    Hugs,
    Snoopy 😀

  132. Karen McAlpine

Super nice use of Viola set! I resolve to evolve my card making style. To try some different techniques. And maybe I should try to exercise more.

  133. I guess my New Year’s resolution is to stop buying so much paper, etc, until I’ve used more of what I already have; that’s so difficult, though, when there is such wonderful stuff out there and, especially, just before SAB!!!!

  134. My New Years resolution is to stamp & scrapbook more! I really love the Viola set and all winter sets with snowmen, penguins and the like! Happy 2010!!!!

  135. Thanks for the chance. My New Year’s Resolution is to read the Bible in a year.
Your work is beautiful. Someday I will take a workshop.

  136. My new year’s resolution is to be more organized and less critical. Kathy Eddy

  137. Wow that sure is a nice blog candy and would love the chance to win it.
I do not really make resolutions only to break them.
I live all the time but my rulle to treat people the way the way I want to be treated. I love life and only wish other people would live this way. It would be a better world.
Life it too short so why not enjoy it.

  138. Caterina Grove

Another great card as always – as for resolutions, way too many to list but hope to enjoy every moment that God gives me.

  139. I always seem to have a hard time with resolutions – maybe because I go too extreme. This year I have decided to scale down on my expections of myself. My only resolution is to give myself more “me” time!! My boys are older now, don’t need me as much and I need to do more for ME! This will be hard for me – but I am determined; stamping is a big part of this “me” time; I have already signed up for one of your workshops (can’t wait!!) and I hope this is one resolution I can keep!!

  140. Happy New Year and I love your cards and techniques. Some of my resolutions are to get my house in order, loose 30 lbs, make use of my many craft skills and be an even more responsible wife and mother.

  141. Love your work, love your blog, love to win this stamp set! 🙂 Trying to get to one of your workshops. You are incredible. Thank you. Happy New Years! kt

  142. Fabulous card…thanks for sharing how to do the bricks! My New Year’s Resolution…simplify, simplify, simplify…and do something creative every day!

  143. Snow buddies are perfect! We have big fat flakes of snow falling right now. My New Year’s Resolution is to start working on next Christmas now. We’ll see how that goes.

  144. New Year resolutions are so hard to keep for me. But I think a good one for me would be to stamp more and am thinking about starting my own blog finally.

    stamp on…

  145. I have 2 resolutions, one is a mainstay, every year I resolve to get and stay organized. Who knows maybe this will be the year.
My other resolution is to start each day in the Word. Every morning I will either read my Bible, watch a sermon or listen to a pod cast of a good pastor. I’m off to a shaky start, but hey it’s not New Years yet.
Please enter my name into the drawing for this darling stamp set. As always thank you for your creativity and generosity!

  146. My New Years resulotion for this year is to lose 30 pounds.

  147. my resolution this year is to spend more time cultivating some new interests…got to keep the grey matter busy, you know….

  148. Wow, love the technique. And those snow buddies are so cute!

  149. Stephanie Perry

This year I resolve to use more of the stamping/crafting products I have, including dp scraps, embellishments and older stamp sets. All the new products make me feel like a kid in the candy store but what’s the point of buying unless I put them to use? So, what I do buy this year will have a purpose (either short term or long term), and not be purchased on a whim.

Thanks for the chance to win this blog set – it’s a darling set! Thanks too for all the teaching and sharing you provide here on your blog! It’s been wonderful to follow your tutorials!

  150. Happy NEW YEAR to you, thanks for the offer of blog candy. I love all the details you do on your cards. I have’nt try one yet, but will be attempting a brayer card in the next year, I’m sure I will be hooked on them because I love everyone that you do. Thank you for the wonderful step by step tutuials. I would love this win! I don’t have enough stamp sets now. LOL

    Karen

  151. I want to slow down, spend more time with family and friends – and spend more time stamping and scrapbooking!!! Happy New Year!

  152. My resolution is to make better use of my time by getting my home organized. The less time it takes to do the everyday tasks of cleaning up after a family of five, the more time I’ll have to relax and do what “I” like to do. Thanks for the chance to win.

Hope everyone has a great New Year!!

  153. I am going to try to take more time for myself and do the thing that I love to do–stamping and scrapbooking!

  154. Thanks for sharing your talent and your beautiful cards. I plan to declutter, organize and stamp more! Thanks for the opportunity to win this cute stamp set. Happy New Year!

  155. New Year’s resolution…OK…I think that would have to be to keep a positive frame of mind at all times and to take time to appreciate all that I have.

Thanks for the chance of winning…fingers crossed !

    Sue C

  156. I hate admitting it, but my New Year’s resolution is to get in shape (again). Also to spend more time in my stamp/scrap room! 🙂

  157. That is the cutest snowman set since Frosty. I would love to win it
Have a Very Happy New Year!
    My new years resolution
To get my stamp room in order so I don’t have to look for something all the time.
I bought a labeler and I am going to go to town labeling my room! Whoopeeeee

  158. Angela Fletcher

What a cute card! I just love everything you do, I look forward to it all the time. My resolution this year is to do more stamping. I love SU stamps and have a few that I need to use instead of them sitting on a self……I will get busy Stamping! Happy New Year. Angela

  159. My resolution is all about organizing! I find that I spend more time looking for stuff than I do actually making a card or scrapbook page and this has to stop. Usually by the time I find what I’m looking for, I no longer remember what I was making, lol. Anyway, I have already started organizing my stamping and scrapbooking supplies. I also need to get rid of unused items. No sense in hoarding something you don’t use. It will take me a while but that is my resolution and I aim to keep it!

Thank for sharing this great card, Michelle, I love this little chef. Thanks also for the inspiration.

Happy New Year to you and your family.

  160. I would love to win this snowmen stamp set. I love love love winter sets but snowmen just melt my heart. I am drooling over your chef card. He’s so cute. Here’s a toast to you and all the beautiful cards you bless our lives with. Thanks for being soooo talented Michelle. Happy New Year to you my dear, Becky

  161. OMG I just love this set…. HMMM my New Year’s Resolution? Well I’d say the token weight loss one, but I’ve not been successful as of yet with keeping to that one. Soooo, I’m going to have to say that I want to set aside 1 night a week to go down into my ‘craft’ room to stamp or scrapbook. I’m actually booking it in my calendar now…. Hopefully that will work….

Happy New Year to you and your family!

  162. I LOVE SNOW and SNOWMEN….thanks for the chance to win this stamp set. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas . Also, GLAD to see you doing some beautiful drawings again.

  163. Wow! What great blog candy!! I’m working on those New Year’s resolutions. At or near the top of the list will be Organization with many subcategories…craft space, projects, time management, etc.

Wishing you a wonderful 2010! I hope I get an opportunity to be in one of your brayer workshops this coming year. Love your work!!!

  164. Hi Michelle:

Since the rest of the United States is getting snow I think it would be nice to have this snowman stamp set as we, of course, have not had a flake. I live south of Houston in Texas City. Even Houston has had snow but not us!!! So I need a snowman!!!

  165. Stamp, stamp, stamp! That is my New Year’s resolution! Happy New Stampin Year to you and yours!

  166. I can’t wait till you come to Texas in the spring. Love your blog, and the chance to win this great set.

  167. Thanks for the opportunity to win this fine set. My resolution is to get better organized so I can stamp more. It’s frustrating when you know you have something, but can’t find it. Wish me luck! Happy New Year!!

  168. My resolution is to organize my papers and card stock, either using my papers or giving them away and then buying only what I need.

  169. I would really like to stamp more this year. I barely got to do any stamping because one thing or another got in the way. But now that my daughter is in college and we are all settled in, I think I will have a bit more time. Besides I now have a space in which to stamp. That way I don’t have to drag it all out and put it away everytime the notion stikes. I’m also really looking forward to attending your class in TX! I think that will give me some motivation for sure!!! See you soon!

  170. hi michelle,
thanks for the chance to win.
my new years resolution is to stamp more!!
    Ang

  171. your cards never cease to amaze me – you are so talented!

  172. No snow here in Hawaii but I’d still love a chance to win!

  173. Michelle – LOVE this card. I have this chef and I love him, but I have a hard time coming up with ideas for him. Thanks for all the inspiration you give us.

    Nancy
ps – I’d love to win your blog candy! 🙂

  174. how fun to use these together! super cute!

I have a big resolution to try to repurpose more in my crafting. I look forward to this! I also want to try to use more of what I have from my stash……

Happy New Year to you! 🙂

  175. One of my resolutions is to not just lose weight, but strive to be more healthy in my eating, working out, etc – which should result in some weight loss!

love your posts and you are such an inspiration! Thanks! Sue

  176. Hi Michelle!
This is a great blog candy! This will be a great jump start to me and my crafting buddies resolution (we’re planning on getting our X-mas cards done by July this time around ;).

Take care and Happy New Year!
    ~Carissa and Crafty KJ

  177. I want to clean my stamping room out and regularly do some stamping!

  178. Hmmm, I don’t make New Year’s resolutions, but I recken it would be fun to try out some new paper crafting projects or stampin’ techniques that I have instructions for and have never taken the time to “play” with them. Thanks for sharing your awesome tutorials, Michelle. Hope my name is picked for the blog candy! Blessings, leanne

  179. Great blog candy! Whether I win or not, it’s still fun to try.

I’m going to try and use up some of my DP this year. I have a bunch of it and would like to buy some new but I’m resisting until I get used up what I already have.

You have a great New Year!

  180. Hi Michelle – Happy New Year! I was wondering this morning how I could use my Brand New Year stamp and your Voila project using it as a background is just what I needed to see. I haven’t had my brayer out in ages so this is a great time to dust it off. 2009 has been a hellacious year so my New Years Resolution for 2010 is to be nicer to myself and to start taking care of me (with good nutrition, exercise, proper sleep, and plenty of the best medicine — stamping with my girlfriends)!!! Thanks so much for the chance to win awesome the awesome Snow Buddy set!

  181. Katherine Bass

My resolution for the New Year is to try and send a card of encouragement to someone who is having a difficult time, whether it be financial, spiritual or emotional. A cheery “I’m thinking of you” is always welcome.

  182. love your blog, love your tutorials…looking forward to seeing if i will be able to attend one of your California classes…. there are so many things i want to do next year but like barb( the comment before me) i NEED to keep my stamp room clean and orderly for a change next year!

  183. Happy New Year! I think it is the same as last year, to use what I have…LOL! I should start with this cute chef who hasn’t seen ink in a long while!

  184. I love your work. And I love snowmen. If you ever come to Utah…I would love to take a class

  185. My New Year’s Resolution to stamp and stamp and stamp! I can’t eat while stamping so this will be my new “Stamp Diet” to loose weight.

  186. I resolve to do more art in 2010 and finish a couple of books

Love the incentive you ring with each mesage.
    Thanks
    k

  187. I love these two sets together! Great card!!! My New Year Resolutions are…to find a fitness program that doesn’t leave me in massive pain. I was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome a couple months ago, and have had a really hard time getting back to the gym routine, everything I did left me in intense pain. I also want to make more time for card making, start scrapbooking again and try more new recipes…I seem to always cook the same things over and cover and get into a cooking rut. I hope you have a Happy New Year and I’m counting down the days until I get to meet you and take your class in Phoenix. I’m so excited!
    Tanya Atkisson
    “orangegymnut”

  188. My resolution for 2010 is to remember to take time to restore my energy by having lots of time in my studio for creating, meditating and just playing with my toys!

  189. I love your techniques! So glad to be learning a great deal. Thank you for sharing your creative talent with us all! Love to win your blog candy…Have a blessed and happy new year!

  190. Sylvia Johnson

My New Year’s resolutions are to create more and to keep my Stamping room neater. I need to work on better organization. I would love to have the snowman set to add to my collection. We got about 4 inches of snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas day and now we are getting more snow today. No use complaining! Happy New Year Michelle.

  191. I would love to play with this set.
    Happy New year everyone!
    Shelley

  192. Good Morning Michelle,,

  196. Happy New Year!
My resolution is to organize my craft room! It’s a small room & totally packed! I can find my stuff, but don’t have room to invite friends over to craft! I think I can organize & re-arrange to get more crafting counter space! Wish me luck!!!!! & would love luck in winning blog candy too!

  201. Joanne Valente

Please count me in for the hostess set

  202. My main goal this year is too keep spending low and to make use of what I already have. To be come a stamper and not just a collector of stamping supplies! Michelle, thank you for all your generosity throughout this past year. I have learned so much from you! Best of everything in 2010.

  203. I usually don’t make resolutions, but I do want to feel healthier and be more organized in 2010. I want to rid the house of things we are not using and have more time to create and enjoy life. Thanks for the excellent blog candy…I would love to win this set as I fell in love with it the first time I saw it.

  204. I love your chef’s card. It came out so cute. My resolution is to start doing more with my cards and using all I’ve learned from you and other sites.

  205. New Year’s Resolutions just seem to be broken before you know what happen. So this year I will do what I can. There are health issues to get moving faster so I do know that is first this year.

I love the candy and have drooled over it each time it comes up.

Happy New Year and may this year be all you know it can be…

  206. I would love to win Snow Buddies!! My New Year’s Resolution is to take to heart that life is way too short and fleeting – and “not sweat the small stuff”!

  208. I would love to win this set so i could give it to my daughter for her birthday in February….She loves snowmen and has a large collection of them.
Thank you for everything you do……Happy New Years to you and your family.

  209. I love this set – I love snowmen. My new year’s resolution? I’d like to divide my life more equally between my job and my family (leaving a small part for the crafting, of course). I’ve been working too much 🙁
    Bye, Kitty

  210. I look forward to every day’s tutorial. You are the easiest and best out there by far. I would love to win this set since I love snowmen and I would always think of you when I use it!

    Debbie G

  215. I love geting al your blog updates and those wonderful tutorials on how you make each card. I guess my one and only New Year’s resolution is to use some of my stamping stash and also to ink up some of my virgin rubber – don’t we all have some of that!! LOL Thanks fo the chance to win that yummy set. I can already see ways to use it.

    I hope you have a wonderful 2010.

  216. Oh what a fun card! I really like the pairing of the two sets and I always adore your color choices!
My New Year’s Resolution (although I really don’t like to make them) is to continue going to the gym. I started somewhat of a fitness schedule in November and have paid monies to keep going through March.
I would also like to find more stamping time. I have a feeling that would be an easy thing to accomplish if I spent less time on the computer looking at what everyone else stamped! LOL! It’s all good though.
Happy New Year to you and yours!

  217. Lin/Stampin Sister

Hi there! My resolution for 2010 will be to say “I Love You” more also I need to work on the tone of my voice! Thanks Michele!

my New Year’s resolutions are to do more scrapbooking and actually put my photo’s into a book instead of searching through discs and packages each time, and to spend more time doing what I want to do instead of what everyone else wants or needs me to do. Have a great new year and enjoy your drawing, it is great.

  221. Fantastic as usual! Love it and especially the Voila’ chef! TFS Nancy

  222. I love this card. My resolution is to get my craft room organized and start using it.

  223. Mitzi Luttrull

  224. My resolution is try one new technique each week.

  225. Great set, my demonstrator has it and I used it to make a neat desk calendar last month. My New Year’s resolution this year is to make at least 3 new and healthy meals for my family a week, to try to sit up straight AND to try to make one card or project a day.

  226. In addition to the usual resolution of losing weight, I am going to make and send at least one box of cards for soldiers to Operation Write Home each quarter during 2010. The boxes I’m using hold around 150 – 175 cards each so I’ll be doing a LOT of card making this year.

    Happy New Year!

  227. My New Years resolution is to remove clutter from my home especially in my craft room.

  228. Would LOVE to win this set!! Be fun to use it all winter! My resolution is a HUGE one: to lose at least 20 pounds & get in better shape!! Think it will take some heavy-duty stamping to reach aerobic level!! My second resolution is to take more time this year to catch up on scrapbooking & card-making, so maybe the 2 will work together!

  229. My New Year’s Resolutions- Be happy no matter what, lose weight, keep the house clean, get more exercise. Wonder which one I break first. Just love snowmen. Have a collection I put out every Christmas.

  230. My resolutions for 2010 are first to organize my craft area how I want it and to make it more kid friendly because they love to create too, and second to finally start using the 20″ plus stack of scrapbook spreads I have.

  231. I have several…
    1. Be more patient with my family, friends, etc
    2. Pay off the credit cards
    3. Drop 15 pounds
    4. Start the Christmas cards early!!
    5. Organize the house

Whew – I have lots more that I need to work on, but that’s a start! thanks for the chance to win

  232. At 82 yrs of age-I can`t seem to find much mischief to get into-I quess that My resolution for this next year is to organize my Stamping and Quilting Magazines-I can`t seem to part with any of them-but I`am determined to try to be more reasonable about giving some of them to other Folks who may not have what I have.

Would love to win this set-as would all of your other Fans-I Love Fall and Winter I`am a lover of Trees and in the Fall and Winter-when the leaves have gone I can really see the Beautiful Tree under the Leaves and all the imperfections as well-Like we all have !!

    Elizabeth

  235. Wish you and your hub a very happy new year, lots of time to spend with your granddaughter and be as creative as always. For myself I have the resolution to spend more time with my family and lose (a lot of) weight. Working less, crafting more. Lots of resolutions. Hope I can keep them. Thanks for sharing your art and giving us the opportunity to win this lovely set. Bye!

  236. Great card and excellent tutorial. My honest resolution is … no more new stamps for One Year! (yell it like the soup nazi from Seinfeld!!!). I have collected the last of my absolute favorites but am missing only one thing … snowmen! Thanks for the chance to win and a very Happy New year to you too!

  237. This is awesome, love the coloring and shades. My resolution..Not to spend anyone money on stamping –after Jan.

Happy New Year to you and your family Michelle!

  242. Love the card! Everytime I see him I just have to smile! My New Year’s resolution seems like an easy one…and I make it every year but it is something that I feel the need to constantly work on and that is ….. to be the very best that I can be, child of God, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Because in the end, the only thing that matters is God, family and friends. Thank you for being such a good friend by sharing your art with us and giving us the inspiration to do good works with it!

  243. One of my resolutions is to start a scrapbook for all 3 of my children with great family memories!

  244. I love the combo on the card! I wish I could get brave enough to try the aqua painter. I keep saying I’m gonna get one and play but chicken out. Maybe during Sale-a-bration!!!!! My resolution is really a style of life, to serve the LORD, how ever He would see fit. I have a large family and so many demands. But I want be better to look at the demands as a better opportunity to Him, like now…my 6 year old is upset and is feeling a little left out! Hope I win, but if not congrats to the lucky one who does!!!!!

  245. To really use all of my stamping stuff.

  246. I love this set! Thanks for the chance to win.
I have 4 resolutions: 1) attend church regularly, 2) maintain the health improvements I’ve achieved in 2009, 3) find a new job, and 4) reactivate my craft blog!!!

  247. Such a nice tutorial. My news Years resolution is try to use more of craft supplies.
Thanks for sharing your art with us and for the chance to win!

    Suzana

  248. Your cards are always awesome. I’m amazed at how you come up with something outstanding every day. Thank you for your tutorials.
I would love to win this set. Actually, I don’t make New Year’s resolutions, because I don’t keep them and then I get annoy at myself.

  249. Drink plain water! I never drink water unless it’s sugared (ie. sports drinks, vitamin waters, etc). As silly and easy as it sounds, this will be difficult for me. =(

Thanks for the oppty to win… as always, I LOVE your tutorials.

  250. My New Year’s resolution is to take better care of myself and lower my stress levels. I want to simplify my life rather than putting so much stress on myself for everything to be perfect. I also want to take more me time–which includes stamping.

  251. My resolution is to learn to use what I have before I buy more, but it’s so hard when you post the best tutorials ever!

  252. I absolutely love your blog, and the tutorials especially. I have so many new years resolutions. I want to overhaul my life and live more creatively! To that end, I’ve started my own blog (not stamp related). I do intend to work on stamping though. I’ve let it slide. Being that I am a systematic kind of gal lol, I intend on borrowing your tutorials starting way back at the beginning, and learning to brayer! Wish me luck!
    tracyg

    Nana Jo

  256. Thank you again for sharing all of your wonderful art work. My New Years resolution is to spend more time getting things at home better organized. Thank you for the opportunity for another great prize.

  257. To get organized! You know it’s pretty sad when your 14 year old daughter even buys you a case to keep important papers in so I don’t have to look all over the house in the many piles of paper. Spending less time looking for stuff will give me more stamping time.

  258. Thank you for sharing this card. I looked and thought “I don’t remember the glasses being in that set”. Then I read that you combined it with another set. I have the one and I’ll have to think about getting the other.
My resolution is to become more organized in my craft room ~ to use the things I have already bought ~ and to start my Christmas cards in February.
Thanks for the opportunity to win this fun set.

  259. Happy New Year!
Thanks for a chance to win this stamp set. It is so cute! My New Year’s resolution?…
To actually send the cards I make. I’ve been getting better, but I WILL NOT miss a birthday, anniversery, or new baby. (Girl) Scouts Honor!

  260. I have this set and never thought of using it for News Years great idea. This comming year I’m hoping to learn more patience with myself when time flies and I can’t get everything done so I need to learn to not sweat the small stuff better. Happy New Year from PA, Linda

  261. What a cute stamp set! Thanks for the chance to win it. Besides starting a diet again my New Year’s resolution will be to keep my stamp area reasonably clean!!! I hope it’s not a losing proposition. You are so very talented. I just love looking at your work.
Thanks again and Happy New Year.

  262. Happy New Year, Michelle!
I love snowmen and would love to win this set; but not for me, for my oldest granddaughter (she’s 9). She also loves to stamp; we have a great time together making cards…most recently Christmas cards. She could get an early start for next year! Thanks for the chance and for all the inspiration.
A safe, healthy, and happy new year,
    Beth

  263. Happy New Year Michelle! Thank you for all you have done this year and for sharing all your cards with us. I love snowmen and I would love to win this set, thanks for the chance to win! Joyce Arbogast

Thanks for all the time you spend doing this.

  265. My resolution is to take time for me! I never get to scrap!!!

  266. I have two conflicting resolutions.
!. Lose weight (AGAIN). This is because my knees hurt and I truly am at an unhealthy weight.
    2. Stop obsessing about my weight and being so upset and unhappy about it. Although I want to lose weight, I also want to learn to be happy with myself.

Now if someone could help me learn out to lose weight — and learn to do it in a way that doesn’t feel like a punishment LOL!

  267. I’m not very good with keeping resolutions, but I plan to clean out ALL my closets. (something I should do every year) I love this card. Thanks for a chance to win this cute stamp set.
    Kate

  268. Happy New Year! I just love your blog. My hope for the new year is to work smarter, not harder, to get a handle on my health and to enjoy life.

  275. Oh, this is the cutest card I have ever seen with this set! You have such fabulous ideas! My resolution for the year would be to get cards out on time. I made it through August this year, so I have some improvement to look forward to! (What is really amazing is to get cards made and have them sit in a pile for 2 months or so! Why do I do that????) Cute snowman set- I love snowmen!

  276. Michelle! Great card and sweet blog candy. My resolution is to actually get the cards that make into the mail timely. Have a great New Year!

  277. I love the “brick work” on your card – I always learn so much from you! New Year Resolution #1 is to exercise more. After that, organization will be my focus (like unmounting my stamps).

Happy New Year and thanks for the chance to win!!!

  278. You just make that look so easy! lol, love the tut, gotta’ try it. For the new year I need to stay organized, put my stuff away every day!, and play in more challenges….of course doing all this while I’m havin’ fun!

  279. Love your card!! The bricks are a great addition. Thanks for sharing!!

  280. I no longer make resolutions – since I can’t remember ever keeping them. 😉

Love how you made the bricks. Thanks for a chance to win.

  281. Wow, what a lot of comments!

My New Year’s resolution is to find a new job that makes me happy, not just pays the bills. For too many years to count I’ve always done a job that doesn’t make me want to go to work. You think it’s out there?

    Wendy

  282. Pauline Campbell

Great blog candy as always! My resolution is to get my ideas out of my head and onto the paper!!

  283. Can I enter even if I don’t make New Year’s resolutions? I would never keep them, so don’t want to set myself up for failure. I love, love LOVE the snowmen in the blog candy set so would love to win it.

    Great card, as always.

  284. Lynnor aka icensheba on SCS

Awesome tutorial…I learn something new every time I read one!!! My New Year’s resolution is to not work 11 hours days when I’m only getting paid for 8!! Now I just have to figure out how to do that!! LOL!!

  285. Love the Cheers to you card. Very cute. Voila is one of my favorite sets. I would love to have the the blog candy set. My resolution is to try and become a cleaner stamper! I’m the worst. Everytime I create something it looks like a bombs gone off in my stampin room………….terrible!

  286. As always, your work is very inspiring. My New Years resolution is to clean up my stamp room and get rid of things I don’t use. Also to clean out my closets of old clothes that I will likely never wear. Thanks for running another blog candy. Pls throw my name in the hat.

  287. Peggy Parenteau

Thanks for the chance to win this great set! My husband & I are buying a tread mill to help us both loose weight! Happy New Year.

  288. Thanks for your tutorials and I would love to win this snowman set. Thanks again and I look forward to your instructions in 2010.
    Karen

  289. Love this card! Your colouring/shading/sponging abilities fill me with awe. 🙂 My resolution? I don’t officially make any, but I’m going to try to love food a little less for awhile. 😛 My stamping resolution is to be more experimental! If it doesn’t work… it’s only paper, ink and a little time. P.S. Pick me, random number generator!!!

  290. I don’t tend to make resolutions, but if I did it would be to tell people more frequently what they mean to me. Oh yes, and to clean up my craft room! Thanks for a great year of tutorials. I’m looking forward to more in 2010! Thanks for the chance at the snowman set. I really love snowmen!
    Happy New Year!
    R/

  291. My New Year’s resolution is to watch my weight better then I have this past year so I can hopefully be around for my children and grandchildren for many more productive years.

  292. My New Years resolution is to do more of what I love. Stamp!

  293. Lovely card. You are sooooo talented. My resolution……..to make more time to stamp.

  294. Melodie Marrow

My New Year’s resolution is to get next years Christmas cards made before November. We just get too busy around Christmas time we barely have time to address the cards let alone make them at that time. Would love to use this stamp set to accomplish this resolution. : ) Happy New Year!

  295. My New Years Resolution is to not let all the small stuff get to me and to make more time for my creative inner me to come out and play more. Already thinking about party invites to make and birthday cards and Christmas cards heck there is 360 days until Christmas.

  296. I normally don’t make resolutions and today I heard someone on the PATH radio station that in an of itself was a resolution. So my New Year’s resolution is that I am going to get Birthday cards made and given to members of my family this year.

  297. Danielle Barton

Thanks for the chance to win such great blog candy!!! My New Years resolution is to stop holding on to so much crap and get organized. My craft room is constantly in a state of mess and it’s because I have so much stuff! So instead of just putting stuff in a pile, I resolve to put it where it belongs. Also, no more buying craft stuff until I actually need it or run out of it! So basically, no more buying ribbon for the next 5 years! LOL!

  298. I learn so much from you about color combos and techniques. the Voila! card for New Year’s is no exception. I would love to receive those cute little snowmen in the blog candy give-away. thanks for making it available.

  299. oops forgot the resolution: make more time to stamp and keep organized, which will actually give me more time to stamp, yes?

  300. Hi Michelle,

Happy New Year. My New Year’s Resolution is actually a pretty fun thing. I am going to USE more of my stamping inventory to create gifts for all of the occassions I normally give a gift. I love home made things, and most all of my friends enjoy a homemade gift rather than a purchased one.

I love the Blog Candy…..I could really create some cute snowmen cards with that set. Thanks for being so generous and including me in the give away.

    Dianna
    AKA Gramma Banana

  301. I love your tutorials! My resolution is to make more cards this year and start earlier on home-made Christmas presents for 2010!

  302. Karen Saalfield

Oh. Michelle what an adorable card. I can’t wait to try it, but will make it a birthday card.
My New Year’s resolution is to not procrastinate. I’ve put so much off & then have no time to complete my intended project, be it stamping, cross stitching, or cleaning. I vow to over come my last minute deadlines.
I’d love to win your blog candy.

  303. Love the snowman stamp set. It’s very appropriate for the winter wonderland where I live. Received 8+ inches of snow two days ago! Resolutions? Craft everyday, organize my space and my time, try to finish the crafts I have started (I’ll need to live to 125!!), be a better friend, and get my husband and myself healthier. Worthy goals all. Thanks for the chance to win this great stamp set.

  304. I love this card. My resolution is to clean up after myself. I’m now looking at the post christmas disaster sitting on my craft desk. Fridays is the day. Great blog candy, I’d love to win it
    Christine

  305. Hmmm….my New Year’s resolution….I try not to make them. Though I have good intentions, I can rarely stick to them. This year it is my intention to work on using more of my stashes, both cardmaking supplies and quilting fabrics, not just collecting more. There are so many projects just waiting to happen. Wish me success on this “resolution!”

  306. My New Years resolution is a typical one, to loose weight. I always think it may happen this year. I don’t think I will ever give that one up. Cute card by the way, again another treat reading your blog. Hope I win. I am a sucker for snowmen.

  307. Maybe 300+ is my lucky number! I have wanted this set since the mini came out.

My new years resolution is to be happy and not let others steal that happiness from me.

  308. I don’t make resolutions, ’cause they’re too easy to break, but if I did, I’d make make ten Christmas cards every month. Then MAYBE next year I could get them out on time. Thanks for being such an inspiration. Happy New Year!

  309. AnnMarie Pszybylski

THIS will be the year I get healthy, organize my ‘studio’ and have a date morning each Friday with the hubby at the movie before noon when the twins are in school. Thank you for sharing your fantabulous creations with all of us for inspiration.
    Stay well,
    AnnMarie

  310. Linda Shattuck

My new years resolution this year is going to be to fight hard. I am totally disabled from a car accident, me being the middle person, so I got hit from in front and in back. Now I walk with a cane, and I have a really hard time, and the pain is unbearable! So I need to keep fighting, I am only 43 years old, I cant give up, I have 2 wonderful kids to be here for, so I will fight, only harder! Happy New Years All! BTW, I love your tutorials, they are so amazing, and you make it look so darn easy!

  311. I vow to get out that sewing machine and us it on some cards that are just crying for some stitching! And to color more with my kids, so simple and fun…especially with Copics!

  312. My New Year’s Resolution is to get more organized so I can spend more time stamping and creating. Your step by step tutorials are really amazing and so easy to follow – thanks!

  313. I am going to be more organized.

  314. I am still plugging away de-junking my house. I’ve been at it for 6 months already and it’s SLOW work when you hold down a full-time job and are a demonstrator too. I’m making great progress though and I WILL keep at it.

    Peg

  315. As always your art is spectacular and you know how to teach your techniques over the internet. What a gift you give us. My resolution is to get rid of lots of “stuff” that I really don’t need anymore and put my genealogy information in a form for sharing. Hope I’ll be included in the drawing. Again thanks for all you do for us and the best to you in the new year!

  316. …my New Years resolution is to start making my 2010 Christmas cards much earlier!

  317. Hi Michelle,

Cute care..so many steps involved. Wow!

I don’t usually make New Years Resolutions. I just like to take each year one day at a time. I try to learn to live and let live. Try to not stress to much about the little things in life that bother me and appreciated the more important things, like my family, friendship, work relationships with my clients and relationship with God. But again, it’s not really a resolution per say, it’s just what I like to strive for every day.

Happy New Year to you and your family,

    JOY

  318. Since I always break my new year’s resolutions I thought this year my resolution would be to not have a new year’s resolution …. wait, I just broke my resolution didn’t I?? Oh, well, better luck next year…

  319. My new year resolution would be to add more exercise into my schedule.

Happy New Year to you and your family. May you have a healthy new year.

  320. I resolve to use the supplies I have before buying more…to make my husband happier! BUT, new stamp sets are a MUST-especially the new SU clings!!! And of course..lose weight, always…I’m getting there! LOVE this card and of course really would love to have this hostess set…so many ideas! Thanx for all your help Michelle!HAPPY NEW 2010 to ALL!!!

  321. My New Years resolution is usually the same, exercise more and eat healthier. Maybe I can stick with it this year!

  322. My resolution or goal for this new year, is to have better time management. So I can enjoy my crafting more. And to change our diets to eat healthier.

    Sharon

  323. Love the card!
My New Years resolution is to use my supplies!
Thanks for a great and inspiring year!
    Happy New Year!
    Sandra

  324. Bernice Wright

Happy New Year to you and may it be your best one yet. I’ve always liked that chef – and the accessories to put on the tray. My new year’s resolution is to take more time to get organized and stay that way – at least for a little while. And another one is to make more cards with the stamp sets that I continue to collect, and not use. I hope I win the snowmen set – I absolutely adore it – it’s so sweet. Love all the cards you continue to make. You give me inspiration, Michelle.
    Thanks – Bernice

  325. My New Years’ resolution is to not spend QUITE so much moola on stamps! (yeah right!) So I could **really** use a free set! 🙂 Thanks!
    Christina

  326. LOVE the’ snowbuddies’. I am going to attempt to get more exercise. I know not original but too much sitting stamping is not good for me!!

  327. Love the snowmen and LOVE for this set to be mine!

  328. I am going to try and be calmer this year.

  329. No real resolutions yet–plenty of possibilities for improvement, though!

  330. Barbara Widney

My resolution is to try to stress out less, and get my stamping area finished reorganizing. Love your work. Totally creative.

  331. This chef set and his accessories are one of my favorites on my wish list, it is nice to see you make something inspirational with him! The snowman blog candy set is also charming – thanks for the opportunity!

  332. Ooooh, I would love to have this snowman set! My resolution is to get my craft area really organized. Wish me luck!

  333. Karen Neugebauer

    Michelle,
My New Year’s resolution is to be more active, and to find more time for stamping. I have a beautiful craft room that feels neglected. After working all day, I come home exhausted and usually turn in very early. Being a cancer survivor, I guess it is still taking a lot out of me. I vow to stay up later and go to my craft room for at least an hour a night…….

  334. Mary Ann Daugherty

My new years resolution is to organize my stamp room so I can find things and teach my grand daughters how to make cards so we can have even more fun together and to live life to the fullest with my family. Thanks for the chance to win this set. I don’t have it yet and would truely love to have it as I see so many things I can do with this set. Have a Happy New Year!

  335. eating healthy to lose weight and exercising are my top priority for 2010. Happy new year, Michelle.

  336. Rockin Robin Caldwell

What a cute set!! I’d love to win it as blog candy. I have several resolutions for this year…but what I am going to focus on is to “get rid of things that aren’t working in my life”. By that, I mean things that are causing me to be stressed or unhappy with the way my life is going. I guess this year I am going to take control of my life and be the best I can be. I already started by quitting smoking…a week ago today…man, this is really, really hard!!! Wish me luck. Hisses, Rockin Robin Caldwell (stampinsavage at yahoo dot com)

  337. of course i want to win.
a happy new year to you too.
    thanks for all inspiration.
    johanna

  338. Marlene Jameson

My husband and I have spent this week building a craft corner for me:-). I can’t wait to spend time in it, and hopefully I’ll be using your new snowman set!!!! My daughter just got a new job close to home, so she’s moving back home after 6 years. My New Year’s resolution is to spend quality time with my family and get back on track with a healthier lifestyle. I’ve made many of your cards, totally enjoyed your class in New York this year and look forward to new inspiration daily!!!

  339. Leslie Caponey

My New Year’s resolution is to enjoy my daughters wedding, not to totally stress out over it!

    Thanks for all your tutorials.

  340. My New Year’s resolution is to keep a positive outlook on life. Love your blog. Your talent is greatly admired. Thank you and keep creating.
    Blessings!
    Dawn H

  341. My New Year’s resolution is to “use what I have” because I have so much paper, stamps, etc. that I have not used. It has become something of an addiction and I need to curb the spending. I love the snowman set.

  342. Along with maintaining a healthy lifestyle – diet & exercise, I want to be sure to do something for someone everyday – big or small.

Love your card! i really need to try to embossed more images…

  352. The new year’s resolution is to get back to eating more healthy, trying to lose weight (for an upcoming trip in August) to better enjoy sightseeing and doing events on an Alaskan cruise. And, to push getting more scrapbooking and stamping done!!!!

  357. Hi Michelle
My new year’s resolution is to loose weight. My daughter had a stroke two years ago and was on larger doses of steroids to reduce the swelling in her brain. As a reuslt the steroids had several meals on her body. So, I have spent a lot of time in hospitols (sitting) or waiting for her (sitting) while in rehab. She has already had four surgeries and the fifth one is coming up in January. Snowmen are my favorite winter stamps and I would LOVE to have this blog candy. I have had my eyes on it for some time.
Thank you for all the work you do to help so many of us learn.
    Peggy

  358. Oh Michelle! What a great idea – to share all of our New Year’s plans!

New Year’s is my very special favorite holiday because it is a time to let go of the previous year and plan for a beautiful new year full of beginnings. This year I took off a couple days to get a 5-day weekend and I’m spending a lot of time planning my goals for 2010. I never make resolutions, just plans. I’m not finished with my planning process yet, but here are a few items I know for sure…

    NEW YEARS PLAN:
Make time each week to stamp creatively, including participating in challenges.
Organize my new craft closet. (My boyfriend built new closet organizers for me for xmas!)
Eliminate soda drinking. (I drink about 2-4 a week, but it’s too much for me.)
Go on a big wonderful vacation (maybe Hawaii or Australia).

thanks Michelle ! Happy New Year!
    -maria.

  359. Hi, Michelle.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful work and tutorials! I’ve learned so many cool things here. Thank you also for the blog candy!!! I hope I win.

  366. As with all of your tutorials, I am inspired. So, for my resolution, I will make something everyday, even if it is an element for something to be used later. Happy New Year everyone!

  367. Love, love, love this card and the technique you’ve used.
One of my resolutions is to send more cards. I make piles of cards, but don’t always share them. So… less email and more cards by snail mail.
Hope y’all have a happy, healthy New Year.

  368. That is the cutest Stampin Up Snowman set I’ve seen in the 10 years I’ve known about stampin’ up. I’d love to win. Thanks for the opportunity. I hope you have a blessed new year.

  370. HMMMMM my New Year’s Resolution…..I hate doing these because I never seem to follow through, but I do have a couple of things I want to improve on. 1. I want to start walking again and I want to QUIT SMOKING!!!! Such a horrible habit and soooo expensive!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  371. I resolve to lose weight next year. I know that is an old cliche resolution, but it needs to happen. I’m not getting any younger!

    Nancy

  375. My NY resolution: organize my stamp room! Great tutorial with the voila set! Love the snow buddies stamp set.
    Thanx, Lynn

  376. My resolution is to begin acting with purpose. That may sound strange, but I believe I’ve just been letting life happen since I retired 7 years ago….and I’m now in my later 60’s!

As for the card… each time I see that stamp, I think I should buy it so I can make cards for my eldest son, who is a sous chef in Brooklyn. However, he’s very tall and thin. 😉 Great tutorial, as always!

    Happy New Year!

  377. My resolution is to keep a more organized craft area (wish me luck on that one)!!! I love your work Michelle, you truely do inspire. Have a Happy New Year.

  378. My New Year’s resolution is to make 2010 a healthier one!

  379. My resolution this year is to take time to enjoy life and stop being so “busy”.
I love the chef and your card is amazing! Hope you have a very Happy New Year!

  380. I LOVE SNOWMEN!!!! 🙂 My resolution for the New Year is to be better with priorities…more time with people who are important to me; more guilt-free me-time (TO STAMP!!); less time stressing over the small stuff – all the rest is small stuff!

  381. Love the snowman set and would be thrilled to win it!

    DeniseB

    DeniseB

  384. Thank you for a fun tutorial, don’t know if I can do this though, lol. My New Year’s resolution is to eat more fruits and veggies, and to play with stamping more to get better! 🙂 Thanks so much

  385. I always love your tutorials! You are so creative.

As for my New Year’s resolution, I want to continue to make use of my “stash” as much as possible. I got organized this year and I purged a lot of my stuff that I didn’t use anymore. Now I need to use up some of what I kept. There is always new stuff out there, tempting me, but I really want to save some money and make some space by using up the old stuff first.

  386. Thanks for this cute tutorial! You got me thinking about New Year’s cards now. 🙂

My New Year’s resolution is an easy one – to expand my Stampin’ Up! business, of course. But I thought of a new one which is more of a hope, or a wish, than a resolution.

I have many good friends, and I have a wonderful partner in my husband, but I don’t have a close friend who shares my love of stamping. I am hoping to connect with someone new this year, who I just click with, who will share my love of stamping and who can be someone I can confide in when it comes to all things craft-related.

I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life, but I think there might be room for one more. So I resolve to organize many workshops, and spread my love of stamping, and try to find new customers. But while I’m doing that, I’m saving a little room in my life for a new close friend, or a group of friends.

They say if you ask the universe for something, the universe will answer. So this year I resolve to ask, and to make many opportunities to allow the universe to answer.

  387. Helena Geels

    Michelle,
I resolve to organize all my stamping sets into a notebook like you have done. I would love to win one of your sets that you are giving away sometime. I buy every set that you show in a tutorial so that I can make the card.

My New Year’s Resolution is to be better to my body- more water and good stuff, less “just snack on something just because it’s handy”…

My New Year’s Goal is to work on my creativity and get going on so many things I want to try.

  389. My New Year’s resolution is pretty similar to a lot of other people. I want to lose about 15 lbs by summer. My 30th high school reunion is this coming summer and I want to look my best. 408. Lauralee Camilleri

Let’s see…keep the weight off I lost in 2009 (not as easy as I thought it would be…I apparently love food – who knew?) and I would like live by a single word this year…Fair. I want to be fair in everything and everyone I deal with. I think it will be challenging but I’ll keep you posted. Given how fast 2009 blew by, I think I can be fair until 2011!

  409. My New Year’s resolution is to use the stamps that I first bought and have since changed my mind about. I love your tutorials – keep up the great work!

  412. I love you blog, and since I have yet to use my Voila set, glad to have a great idea. My resolution for this year is to be more organized. I just can’t seem to get a card prepared in advance.
    Thanks for sharing,

  413. Happy New Year Michelle!
My resolution this year is to concentrate more on “being” in the moment, no matter where I’m at. My brain and thoughts always seem to be 5 steps ahead of where I am—–need to enjoy just being…..

  414. I love your blog and have gotten so much inspiration from your work . Thanks so much . My resolution is to exercise more , be more patient and be more organized. I would love to win this stamp set.

  417. Happy New Year. My resolution is to get my entire house organized. The fun part will be organizing my craft stuff. My ultimate goal is to take more time for crafting, this won’t happen until I complete my resolution. The goal will keep me motivated!

    Dina

  418. Judi Szyndrowski

    Hi Michelle

I have 3 resolutions this year. 1) to spend less on new stamping ‘stuff’ and use what I have
    2) to clean up my computer and craft room.
    3) to attend one of your workshops!

Hope I have to will power for 1 and 2. Number 3 would just be pure indulgence.

    Judi

  419. My main resolution this year is to be more at peace with my world. To stop and smell the roses as they say. Bring more serenity to my world.

  420. great card!! I just may have to get me some more stamps 🙂 Also, yes, please enter me in the drawing. My new years’ resolution is to get back to sit-ups and push-ups at least two times a week and lose another 20 lbs by the end of summer. If I lose the weight, I get to go out and get a Magic Mouse. When I lose 20 more beyond that, I’m going to splurge big-time and get an iTouch! (of course I would have to find a way to save for it first 🙂 and, I would also be at my goal weight finally!! 🙂

Hope everyone has a happy, healthy new year!

  421. Happy New Year Michelle!!

    Melba

  422. Windy Ellard

Thank you for the offer and Happy New Year! For the new year, I planned to do more cooking at home and try loads more new recipes. I do not like to cook and I hope to get motivated and start to like it! Have a great weekend!

  423. Oh dear, I hope I’m not too late. I LUUUUVE your stuff. Keep it coming in twenty ten! Thanks.

  424. My resolution this year is to be less selfish….to change my heart to be more giving. I’ve always been a giving person but in my heart there was an anger there. Anger that I give and no one gives back to me. The anger is over starting now. I will be giving and enjoy the act of giving. I’ve also realized that giving to myself is not selfish but taking care of myself will make more whole to give to others.

  425. Hi Michelle,
I’m resolving to find more B-A-L-A-N-C-E in my life in 2010. I think that will help me and my family to appreciate what we have to be grateful for and to deal with the challenges that come along.

Thank you for sharing your time and talent so generously on this blog! Your work is exquisite, I really am awed when I see it. And you break it down so beautifully! Thank you again!

  426. Thank you for the opportunity to win a wonderful stamp set. Beautiful card as usual.

  427. Your creations are the best! My resolution is to focus on what I do have and not on what I don’t have. I live a blessed life and truly need to take time to appreciate my friends, family, and spend more time doing the things I love.

  428. My resolution is to organize all of my stamping stuff so that I can spend more time making cards, than looking for what I need.

  429. Jill Crossfield

My resolution is to track you down sometime in this year and learn how to master these techniques. And since snowmen stamps are the closest I’ll probably ever be to snow- it would be really nice to win them! thanks for the chance to win!

  430. I love this set, and would love to have it! Thanks for all you do Michelle, your blog is awesome! 🙂

  431. my New Years Resolution is to USE the stamps and stuff that I have and not to just collect them. But first I need to make TIME for myself!!

  433. My resolution is to make more time for creativity this new year.

  434. Thanks for a chance to win such a neat stamp! and Thank you for sharing all your many talents. Love the chef card, such a great idea. Nancy

  435. Stop eating period and make more time to stamp! The theory is if my hands are busy stamping they can’t reach for the snack!

  436. I am thinking for Blog Candy has no fat, and at this time of the new year, I don’t need any more faty food but I do need snowman for serving. Hey I really liek the way you are making us to see all. Thanks for sharing it.

  437. Vicky Nicolaci

I have just found your blog & I’m really enjoying it. Your instructions are clear & the projects are very cool! This year my New Years decision is to refuse to make a resolution – since life happens & gets in the way of the best intentions.

I hope to create in a more organized fashion – I seem to make a mess that takes tons of effort to straighten up. It appears that I only know how to create in the middle of a mess.

Well I’m off to check out more of your ideas. It looks like I just missed the Dayton, OH class. So I’ll have to wait until the next time you come to our tri-state area.

    Thanks for the great ideas!

    Vicky
